Care for a Tasty Beverage?
We are a family-friendly, full-service restaurant experience featuring craft beers and spirits produced on-site. We’ll also offer the best destination craft distillery tour in the country along with unique private event spaces celebrating the history of the Collinsville Herald and our city’s nearly forgotten brewing and distilling past.
The Collinsville Herald was established in 1879 by James N. Peers, a photographer. The first location of the Herald was on South Chestnut Street. Peers ran the paper until 1906 when a group of businessmen bought it. The Herald’ssecond home was at the corner of Main and Morrison, which most recently housed Home Furnishings Company. In 1917 James O. Monroe bought the Herald and within the first week took steps to bring it into the modern world by buying a linotype machine. Monroe moved the newspaper company to Clay Street in 1924 and added another building in the 1930’s. Throughout its 100 plus years, the newspaper won numerous awards and recognitions. It played a vital role in this community in good times and bad. In 1985, the Herald was bought by Suburban Journals and moved to Eastport Plaza.
The Herald building sat empty for many years despite several attempts to open a variety of businesses. In 2017, we purchased the Herald building with a plan to open a brewery and distillery. After nearly 2 years of plans and construction and lots of federal and state paperwork, we are finally there!
