ABOUT THE POSITION

This position includes prepping / cooking a variety of the different food products included in our menu including sauces, vegetables, meats, etc., using a variety of equipment and utensils according to our daily prep list.

Although experience is required, we expect that every member of our team will learn & adopt the Old Herald way of doing things. We expect our team to have positive and teachable attitudes at all times. 

You will be responsible for on time preparation of ready-to-eat foods for our guests.

The ideal candidate must fit the following criteria:

  • Must have open availability
  • Must have food handlers certification
  • Must have strong knife skills
  • Must be punctual
  • Must be able to take direction and work as a part of a team in a fast paced environment
  • Must be someone who others look forward to being around
  • Must be teachable
  • Must be able to follow recipes with precision
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication, organization, leadership, and people skills
  • Must have a positive attitude and a friendly disposition
  • Must have a strong work ethic.
  • Must pay close attention to the little details
  • Must be someone of honor and integrity
  • Must be able to coordinate effectively and graciously with the entire staff, including Front of House
  • Must be able to operate based upon the ServSafe standards with an emphasis on sanitation & hygiene 
  • Must have a mastery of the prep / cook responsibilities as well as dishwashing duties.

This person should also should also be passionate about food, food quality, and also have the ability to cook food to order.

You will report to the chef or kitchen manager and also be responsible for excellent sanitation practices and other food/kitchen related duties.
